On Monday, May 19th, the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in Nova Scotia unveiled the stunning Cedar & Maple Statue at the historic Pier 21, the very gateway through which many Lebanese immigrants first arrived in Halifax and across Canada. Over 150 community members, descendants, elders, and officials gathered to witness the moment — and some of the original first-generation immigrants who came through Pier 21 were graciously present to participate in the unveiling.

The new statue, symbolizing the journey “From Cedar Roots to Maple Leaves,” stands as a powerful testament to the courage, resilience, and enduring legacy of Lebanese immigrants. It reflects the deep cultural heritage that began overseas and grew roots in Canadian soil, connecting two nations through shared stories of hope and opportunity.
