Founded in 2026, the newly formed Lebanese Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia (LLANS) is an organization that brings together Lebanese Lawyers practicing in Nova Scotia. Its mission is one that seeks to serve the vast Lebanese Diaspora in Nova Scotia and the greater legal community at large. There are over 30 Lebanese Lawyers in Nova Scotia practicing in a wide variety of legal fields at all major firms in the province. While the community remains well-established in business, many Lebanese lawyers are first generation lawyers in their families and faced unique challenges on their legal journeys. Among many other objectives, LLANS seeks to provide mentorship to new lawyers, articling clerks and law students in the community. As an organization, LLANS will remain committed to giving back to the greater Nova Scotian community as a whole through various volunteer and philanthropic endeavors. Members of the LLANS board are licensed to practice law in Nova Scotia, Florida and Lebanon and work in English, French and Arabic. Below please meet the organization’s founding members and board of directors:
- President: Dr. Natalie Ann Ghosn, Esq. holds a B.A., J.D., LL.M., and Ph.D. from various institutions in the United States including the University of Miami. She also holds a Canadian LL.B. equivalent from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Called to the bar in Florida in 2010, she brings 16 years of legal and academic experience to her current role. She is currently practicing Family Law and Civil Litigation at Conrad Dillon Robinson Law as a clerk, the final step in converting her Florida license to practice to the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society to become a dual-licensed lawyer in Nova Scotia.
- Vice-President: Bill Toulany is an Associate and member of the Real Estate and Commercial Real Estate and Development teams at BOYNECLARE LLP. He also practices in Trusts and Estates and Property and Wills. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Birmingham and has a strong history of pro bono work in the community.
- Treasurer: Abir Ayoub is a general practice lawyer at Farrow Hicks McDade Law Inc. in Upper Tantallon, NS. She holds a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Dalhousie University.With a practical and client-focused approach, Abir provides thoughtful guidance across a range of legal matters, helping clients navigate challenges and make informed decisions.
- Articling and Law Student Outreach Officer: Chloe Ramia is currently an articled clerk at McInnes Cooper focusing on Commercial and Residential Real Estate law. She holds an LLM from the University of Toronto and an LLM from City University of London, in the United Kingdom.
- Administrative Lead: Nadine Hanna is a family lawyer at BOYNECLARKE LLP. She holds a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction and Dean’s List recognition from Dalhousie University. She is a second-generation Lebanese-Nova Scotian. Nadine has been and continues to be an active volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (Halifax Branch).
- Diversity and Equity Advisor: Maya Dghaidi is a Lebanese lawyer licensed to practice in Lebanon, with international experience across the Middle East. She serves on the board of the Lebanese Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia, providing guidance on legal matters in Lebanon through Dghaidi Law Firm and acts as the association’s Diversity and Equity Advisor. She maintains an active law office in Lebanon for legal services there. She is currently completing her NCA requirements to be eligible for admission to NSBS.
